Sample · How a day works

What this is. A 90-day practice of looking at what you usually move past. Each day holds one prompt, ten minutes, one page of honest writing. The book is built around two readings you carry: the Western sign of your birth date, and the Chinese animal of the year you were born into. One is the mask of temperament; the other is the weight of that year. The prompts work in the space between the two.

You do not need to believe anything. You do not need to believe in the zodiac, in signs, in animals, or in the calendars behind them. This book uses the two readings the way a room uses a mirror: not to tell you what you are, but to show you what you are doing. If a line lands, it works. If it does not, it still works, because you get to ask what it stirred. The readings are mirrors, not fate.

You need almost nothing. A pen and something that takes ink. A quiet corner. Ten minutes. No altar, no candles, no purchase, no app. If you prefer to write on a screen, that works too. The practice lives in the noticing, not in the page.

How a day works. Read the day's prompt once, slowly. Let it sit for a moment. Then write one honest paragraph: three or four sentences. Notice what you reach for first, what you move past, what you would rather not say out loud. You are not writing to be impressive; you are writing to be accurate. When the ten minutes are done, close the book.

When a day will not open. Some days the page stays shut. On those days, write the one sentence this book gives you: "I do not want to look at this today." That is a completed day, not a missed one.

What this is

A 90-day journal built around two readings: your Western sun sign and your Chinese animal. One is the mask of temperament; the other is the weight of the year you were born into. Each day gives you one prompt, ten minutes, and one page of honest writing. The journal is a place to return to, not a race to finish.

How a day works

Read the prompt once, slowly. Let it sit. Write one honest paragraph — three or four sentences — noticing what you reach for first and what you move past. When the ten minutes are done, close the book. A missed day is not a broken promise: one line is enough, then continue.

What it is not

This journal is for reflection and entertainment, not therapy or medical advice. It is not a substitute for professional mental health care. You do not need to believe in the zodiac for the prompts to work; the readings are mirrors, not fate. If material runs deeper than ten minutes, close the book, move, and tell someone you trust; if you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.

Questions about this book

Can I start anywhere?+

Yes. The weeks are doors, not steps on a ladder. Begin with the week that is pressing on you; read your sign page and animal page first, then let the weeks move between the two.

What if I miss a day?+

A gap is not a broken promise. Write one line — "I did not write about rest on Tuesday" — and continue. There is no catching up, and none is needed.

What do I receive?+

A PDF journal delivered by email after order confirmation. A pen and ten minutes are the only other requirements.

Is this therapy?+

No. It is a reflection journal, not therapy or medical advice. If you are in crisis, contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
